FAQ
What types of product shots do you offer?
I offer a mix of hero images, standard product angles, label/detail close-ups, and clean pack shots on simple or white backgrounds. Depending on the package, these can be used for e-commerce, launch campaigns, websites, retail decks, and social content.
What’s the difference between a hero shot, a pack shot, and a detail shot?
A hero shot is a more styled, attention-grabbing image designed to showcase the product in its best light. A pack shot is a clean, straightforward product image, often used for e-commerce or catalog purposes. A detail shot focuses on specific elements like the label, texture, ingredients, or packaging features.
Do you work only with Bay Area brands, or can products be shipped in?
I’m based in the San Francisco Bay Area, but I work with brands nationwide. Most product photography projects can be handled by having your products shipped directly to the studio.
What is included in each package?
Each package includes a defined number of products/SKUs, a set number of final images, consistent lighting and color, and a target turnaround time. Higher-tier packages include more shot variety, close-up details, and faster delivery. If you need extra SKUs or more complex styling, those can be added separately.
What do you mean by “consistent lighting” and a “repeatable lighting recipe”?
This means I document and maintain the same lighting setup, angles, and color approach across your product line so your images feel cohesive across flavors, sizes, and future releases.
What do you mean by “3–5 standard angles”?
3–5 standard angles” refers to a consistent set of clean product views used to show your packaging clearly and professionally across your website, e-commerce pages, and launch materials. These typically include front-facing, 3/4 view, side, back, and top-down angles, depending on the product shape and your needs. The exact angle set is chosen based on what best shows off the product, label, and packaging details while keeping the image library cohesive.
Are props and styling included?
Simple surfaces and minimal styling may be included depending on the package. More advanced prop styling, concept development, or custom set building can be quoted as add-ons based on the scope of the project.
How long does a project usually take?
Turnaround depends on the package. Standard projects are typically delivered within 5 business days, while priority projects can be turned around faster. Final timing may vary depending on the number of SKUs, complexity of the shot list, and revision needs.
What usage is included with the images?
Web and e-commerce usage are included in the base packages. If you need broader usage such as paid advertising, packaging, large-scale campaigns, or other extended licensing, that can be quoted based on your needs.
Can I add more SKUs or request more images later?
Yes. If your brand is expanding into new flavors, sizes, or seasonal releases, you can add extra SKUs or continue with an expansion bundle or refresh package to keep the image library consistent over time.
What do I need to send to get started?
To begin, I’ll typically need your product(s), desired shot list, packaging guidance, brand references, timeline, and any usage needs. Once those details are clear, I can recommend the best package and plan the shoot.
